Hi again! I know it's been a while but I got a shirt that was worth the wait for me and I'm sure you are pretty happy about it as well!
The shirt itself is a combination of colours I doubt we'll ever see in the premier league. Possibly a Real Valladolid shirt, but i don't see that happening either. Purple and white stripes with orange shoulder pads.
And yeah yeah, I know what it says on the front...
Grupo Bimbo (pronounced Beembo) is the largest Mexican owned baking company. Bimbo was meant to be a combination of the words Bingo and Bambi... (I know right... weird) Anyway, onto more about the club.
Deportivo Saprissa are the second most successful side in Costa Rica behind LD Alajuense. They both have 29 championship titles but Alajuense have 5 more second places with 20 oppose to Saprissa's 15.
Saprissa travel around a lot for friendlies and actually don't have a bad a record against lots of European teams. They've played Real Madrid, Liverpool, Borussia Dortmund and in 2013 played Fulham.
They were first internationally recognised in 1959 when they became the first Latin American team to tour around the world. They went to 25 different countries including Israel, Hong Kong and Australia. They won 14 of their games which is impressive for such a small team.
They have recently had a club makeover where the home shirt has been changed to claret/dark red and the badge to an S. It's a shame that the purple and orange probably won't ever return but it was good while it lasted. #Bargain
